BrightTax client records now hold the same detail as BTC desktop — practices can move across without referring back to desktop for client data. Individual and Organisation client records include additional contact, administrative, tax and business details plus general notes, and a new Address Details tab lets you keep multiple addresses for each client. Everything below is live from 9 October 2026. If you have any questions, our support team is happy to help.

Expanded client records — the details you hold in BTC desktop, now in BrightTax

Individual and Organisation client records in BrightTax now include the additional contact, administrative, tax and business details recorded in BTC desktop, plus general notes.

Individual clients
Contact details
Middle names, known as, alternative telephone and email, web address, social media details and nationality
Administrative details
Date joined practice, date left, deceased and date of death, spouse's date of birth and marital status
Tax and business details
Tax District, PAYE reference, PAYE Accounts Office reference, Companies House code, CIS registered, date of commencement of trade, accounting reference date and year of first financial year end
General notes
Included on the client record
Organisation clients
Administrative details
Date joined practice and date left
Tax and business details
Tax District, PAYE reference, PAYE Accounts Office reference and CIS registered, alongside the existing Companies House details

New Feature
Address Details tab — multiple addresses for every client

Add, edit and remove addresses for Individual and Organisation clients. For each address, choose the address type, set the dates it applies from and to, and mark which address is the default contact address.

• Available on both Individual and Organisation clients
• Addresses can be added once the client record has been saved
