Overview
This article explains how subscriptions and licences work in BrightHub, including how to start a subscription, what user licences are, how credits work, and how to manage your billing.
Subscriptions
Each Bright product requires an active subscription to use. Subscriptions are managed from the Products page in BrightHub and are billed on a recurring basis — monthly or annually depending on your plan.
Free Trials
Some products offer a free trial before you commit to a paid subscription. Where a free trial is available, you will see a Start free trial button on the product card. Clicking it takes you directly into the product to explore it. Products without a free trial show an Explore plans button instead, which takes you to the subscription setup page.
Starting a Paid Subscription
To start a paid subscription, go to Products, find the product in the Explore more Bright products section, and click Explore plans. Build your subscription by selecting the options that suit your organisation and click Start using your product to activate it.
Cancelling a Subscription
To cancel a subscription, go to Products, click the three-dot menu on the subscription card, select Edit Subscription, and click Cancel Subscription at the bottom right of the page.
⚠ Important: Cancelling a subscription removes access to that product for all members of your organisation. Ensure you have exported any data you need before cancelling.
User Licences
User licences control how many members of your organisation can access a product. When you subscribe to a product, your plan includes a set number of user licences. If you need more users to access the product than your current plan allows, you will need to purchase additional licences.
Your remaining licence count for each product is shown on the invite screen when adding new members, and within the product under System Management > Licence Information.
Credits
Some products — including BrightManager and BrightBooks — offer purchasable credits for specific features such as SMS notifications or AML checks. Credits are purchased from the Products page and are consumed each time the associated feature is used.
To purchase credits, click the three-dot menu on an active subscription card and select Buy Credits. Not all products have purchasable credits — if this option does not appear, no credits are available for that product.
Billing
All subscription fees, upgrades, licence purchases, and credit purchases are billed to your default payment method and generate an invoice visible in the Billing section of BrightHub. See the related articles below for guidance on managing payment methods and invoices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know when my subscription renews?

Q: Can I have multiple active subscriptions?
A: Yes. You can have active subscriptions for as many Bright products as your organisation needs.
Q: What happens if a payment fails?
