| 📅 Releasing 10 August 2026 ✏️ 1 new feature |
| 1 | New feature | 2026/27 | Tax year | UK | Region updated |
Accountants preparing 2026/27 Individual Tax Returns can now print the SA302 with a prior year column included — showing both years' tax positions in a single document. This removes the need to print two separate SA302s and compare them manually. Everything below is live from 10 August 2026. If you have any questions, our support team is happy to help.
New Feature
SA302 Prior Year Comparison
Select SA302 Prior Year Comparison from the print menu in the Self Assessment section of any 2026/27 Individual Tax Return. The report displays income, tax, NI, payments on account, and balancing payments for both years side by side — everything you need to talk through the year-on-year position with your client in one document. The option sits alongside the existing standard SA302 print — both remain available. The comparison report is enabled once Check and Calculate has been run on the current return and a prior year return exists for the client in BrightTax. Available for 2026/27 (ITR 2026) returns only. Important — Mortgage Purposes
As with the standard SA302, this report does not carry the HMRC logo — commercial software is not permitted to reproduce it. Most mortgage lenders accept a software-produced SA302 alongside a Tax Year Overview from the HMRC online account. Confirm requirements with the lender before providing this report for mortgage purposes.
